2016 Annual Report

STRENGTHENING OUR LATINO COMMUNITY

Alianzas was founded in 2010 with a focus on addressing the needs of the Phoenixville area Latino population and its potential to become an even greater contributor to the community’s cultural and economic development.

Speaking to someone who understands your language and cultural needs is critically important; having someone to support you and help you navigate our systems makes all the difference between success and failure.

Our mission is to serve the Latino/Hispanic community by providing resources, advocacy, and leadership opportunities; and promoting diverse intercultural exchanges to connect all individuals in the broader community.

It’s Personal“Latinos often feel isolated and disconnected. At Alianzas, you can find help as I did, 4 years ago when I began participating in the English as a Second Language Program. At first I was very shy and scared but the teachers and tutors gave me confidence and a sense of family. I have learned so much since. I can speak, read and write enough to communicate with those around me like my children’s teachers. I love Alianzas!”    – Patricia Lopez

Without the generosity of our giving community, the collaboration of our many organizational allies and the priceless help of our volunteers, 2016 would not have been possible! On behalf of our Board of Directors, our Alianzas Community Committee, myself and our Latino Community…

Our deepest thanks for your invaluable Support!
Nina M. Guzman, Executive Director
